I've got an Imbel reciever and an Imbel parts kit that need put together. I'm not confident in my abilities to do it myself, so I'm looking for a reputable builder in the midwest (preferably in Indiana or Ohio) who can do it for me.

Thanks!

GP isn't a "touchy feely" kinda guy, but that lack of social grace translates into a rigid and methodical personality that's going to ensure that you get a quality product or it will be made right until it is. Glen Riddle is good - had one built by him that is fine along with an AK.

Bingo. +1 on this reply.

Although I have to say that Gunplumber is as nice as anyone else you encounter on the internet these days. And he’s honest. That counts for a lot.

Im waiting to hear back from GP on an email for a build but im just going to be patient given im sure he is just working through a backlog. Even so, I still have to wait for DSA to produce more R1 receivers, and after chatting with their CS team over email that wont be until late this year or early next year.

I reply to e-mail several times a day. If you haven't received a reply, it means I have not received an e-mail from you, you had an invalid e-mail address, or your e-mail provider has blacklisted arizonaresponsesystems.com as a spam site. @Reagan.com, for example.

I'll shoot you another one now Mark, I was just trying to not be annoying.

On a side note, is this how bloody mary works ? I just need to say GP three times in a FAL files thread 😂

I've got no beef with Mark. He built me a very nice FAL around 15 year ago, and he took good care of me. One always knows where one stands with Mark, so that's a plus in my book. If he thinks that a part is FUBAR, or something won't work, he'll tell you what it'll take to make it right, and then work until it is right!

I think the Coonan receiver youtube video he did sums that up pretty well. I like working with builders who aren't afraid to tell you if your parts are fubar/trash/clapped out and then ideate on ways to make it work.

I’ve used Randy aka Sledgehammer multiple times. A GOOD, solid human being. He’s had some health issues a few years back, which meant he stepped back some, but all in all, he’s as good as the best, and better than most.
Gunplumber is also as solid as they get. Not a “people person” but he knows his shit. My issue for me is that I can drive to Randy’s in a couple hours, I gotta deal with UPS for GP. GP is usually backed up for months, especially with my junk, because I create replicas on original parts kits that I want perfect. That takes time and can be tedious.
He might be faster with generic builds.

That’s up to Mike and if somebody there has the right locking shoulder

That being said I‘m hoping to build my STG kit there that weekend
I have a handful or two of LS's, but I encourage everyone to bring what they have to ensure we have the correct one if not in my own stash.
