I carry a CZ-82 and have a few others. I've always had the standard magazines, with the cross sword and steel baseplate with dimples in the bottom. I came across one without the dimples and an aluminum baseplate. I know it's official since it has the cross sword proof. I'm familiar with the junk czech mfg ones. Anyone know what the difference is? Is it earlier? Made for a different purpose? Thanks

I have read that some folks were using the CZ75 mag base plates to get the feeling of the heel (base plate) which causes them to point more naturally for folks with big hands, etc... A quick search for CZ magazines will provide plenty of discussion. That base plate looks more like one for a Beretta 92 or 84.

As a side note I bought an 82 that came with a few magazines. Not knowing the true difference of just how shitty aftermarket magazines were, I inserted one and like to have never got it out. You couldn't give me an aftermarket CZ82 magazine.
