Mi winchester 1300 12 gauge has been used for years for birdhunting, range fun, security and lately I’ve been shooting it lot with an 18 inch barrel at the ranges around here which are limited to 100 yards. I love throwin some slugs down range. This weekend it seized, I could not feed around into the magazine tube, and it would not close the bolt , which rotates into the end of the barrel like an ar15. I could hear something rattling around inside the receiver. Upon this assembly, I found a part called the slide arm bridge was bent and deformed, it connects the slide arms to the bolt, and takes a beating under recoil and finally gave up the ghost. It also retains the firing pin and that’s what was rattling around inside the receiver. The new part is $40 plus shipping so it’s a fairly cheap fix, parts for Winchester 1300s are pretty available. The 1300 will actually eject around if the recoil is heavy enough. I think the auto opening action is what damages the slide arm bridge part. So if your 1300 seizes up, the fix is probably pretty cheap.
